Our Mission is Critical

There over 40 million women between the ages of 40-65, and each will experience changes in her hormones and health as she ages.  Left unaddressed, hormone imbalances will negatively impact every aspect of a woman's health and life, and can lead to rapid aging and disease.  Beginning around forty, millions of women begin to experience a range of new health challenges – some uncomfortable and some extremely debilitating.  Many of these problems stem from hormonal imbalances.

For some, hormone imbalances may be responsible for painful problems like migraine headaches, insomnia, chronic exhaustion and mood swings.  For others, these problems can lead to more severe health complications over time – including heart disease, diabetes, cancer or osteoporosis.

Increasingly, women find themselves frustrated by the confusing, and sometimes contradictory information available to them about their own health – from choosing the right exercise and nutrition regimen to deciding on what hormone options are right for them.  According to US statistics, about 52 percent of women over 40 sought treatment for hormone related problems in 2003, with the remainder unclear, undecided and frustrated about how to address these health issues.

Too often, women's health care and education is focused on diagnosing and treating a particular disease instead of addressing how to be well, and the underlying causes of women's ill health and painful problems related to hormone imbalances.  Women are urgently seeking answers, resources and products to address their health and hormone imbalances.

Women in Balance is responding.  We are fighting for more research, better standards of care, and providing information and solutions that help women find the right health and hormone balance so that they can be at their best and reduce their risk for disease.

If you believe this mission is as critical as we do, please join our effort to provide education and promote research.  More >>
